Womentorz® Supports Global Partnerships

Global Partnerships (GP) expands opportunity for people living in poverty by supporting microfinance and other sustainable solutions in Latin America. We partner with innovative, mission-driven microfinance institutions that reach people traditionally left behind—such as women and the rural poor—with microloans and other services that can help families break the cycle of poverty.

A foundation of GP's model is to support women. Seventy percent of the 800,000-plus borrowers served by GP's microfinance partners are women--small business owners, coffee growers, bakers, food vendors, seamstresses, and dairy cow farmers. By helping impoverished women in Latin America access small business loans, practical education and social services, Global Partnerships helps them turn their hard work into a brighter future for their families.

Research shows that when women make financial decisions, they invest in the types of things that benefit their families and communities over the long term, including improved nutrition, housing, and education.
