A few years ago, Mom Entrepreneur, Allison Cohen, set out to create a product that would make it easy and fun for families to pack "greener" lunches and reduce waste.  Her first order of business was no small task; as she hoped to develop a product that would reduce the use of disposable plastic food storage bags. 

With two toddlers and four packed lunches daily, Allison had watched the family’s consumption of disposable plastic baggies skyrocket.  She calculated that her family was spending approximately $125 per year to tote snacks and sandwiches.  Allison, her husband,  and two kids were on a course to use and dispose of an estimated 3,120 disposable plastic baggies per year (12 per day) —a number that made this recycling, re-purposing hybrid-driving mom uncomfortable, to say the least.

So, after many late-night brainstorming sessions and meetings with professors, lawyers, engineers and food packaging industry professionals, Pouch Pals was born - - a durable, reusable snack and sandwich pouch alternative to non-degradable plastic, making ordinary disposable plastic baggies green with envy.
